This part of Vallarta was the business centre of the town since the early 1940 s. It has hundreds of small shops, family owned businesses and services. The three storey house is seperated into 4 light and breezy apartments. Each apt. has a seperate entrance. We rent the 2 apts. on the first floor for long term rentals (4 months or longer) and we rent the large 2 bed. ground floor apt. by the night, week and sometimes month. We live in the penthouse of the building.
"WE" are a husband & wife who moved here from Alberta, Canada in 1998. At the gated entrance, there is a pleasant shady tiled patio with tables, chairs, hammock and fountain for everyone s use surrounded by tropical plants and trees. The neighbourhood is VERY friendly and safe. Most everyone on our cobbled street owns their own home. It is a family oriented area with several Gringo business owners that have lived here for decades. The one bus Lopez Ruta B stops outside of the front gate of the house. It will take you to downtown. A 24 hr. taxi station is a 2 min. walk from the house. Multiple services on this street or next block are: laundry (wash, dry & fold service), internet cafes, Video/DVD rentals, Restaurants,(a very popular seafood restaurant is right next door) bars, coffee shops, 24 hour Pharmacy, 24 hour Doctors and clinics, close to three hospitals, clothing boutiques, Beauty Parlours, Los Mangos library is a short walk, 5 taco stands, 6 corner stores, daycare centre and tortilla factory on our street. Donkeys and goats are often seen walking along the cobbled streets in this area. Lots of roosters too! As I said, it's a "typical" Mexican neighbourhood. This is the REAL PV. It is not a typical tourist area, therefore you do not pay tourist prices or have to deal with drunken tourists. A local Saturday Tianguis market is set up at the end of the street from early morning until dusk. Not a typical tourist market where you will be bothered by the sellers, but you will be very welcome to explore their wares. It sells everything from live chickens to clothing to CD s/DVD s to food, fresh fruit/vegetables, to household items. There is virtually every kind of store, shop and service within a very short walking distance from the house. The Vallarta sports stadium with jogging tracks is less than a 10 minute walk (a 4 minute jog) Cinema Versalles on Fransisco Villa is a 5 min. walk. We are very close to the two new cinemas, Cinepolis & Cinemark and M&M movie theatre at Plaza Galerias, a new upscale shopping mall. We are walking distance to superstores Mega, Soriana supermarket Plaza Caracol and Soriana Pitillal. A short 15 min. walk to the hotel zone beaches. The location is hotel zone south. We are about the same distance from Old town as we are to the Marina area and the adjoining town of Pitillal. We own the land next door, which is currently used as a double garage for our vehicle. You can park your vehicle here free of charge.
We are looking for RELIABLE, RESPONSIBLE, long term renters (4 months or longer) A standard damage deposit (of monthly rate) and first months rent is required. The 2 apts. are not suitable for children or large pets. They are both a good size for 1 or 2 persons both with seperate bedrooms. Yes, there is HOT water and NO dirt floors.
Everything is tiled.
Both apts. are 600+ square foot each. We do not use air conditioning but have ceiling fans as well as floor fans.
The rents are very affordable.
Monthly rent for Apt.# 2 is $490 USD per month. It has a small terrace and en-suite bathroom. Apt.# 3 is slightly smaller in size and is only $460 USD per month. The only utilities you pay for is gas. Electricity, water, cable TV and wireless internet is included. Both are an excellent rate. As you can see by the photographs, both apts. are tastefully decorated and furnished with quality designs. We paint and maintain them regularly. Both have fold out hide-a-bed couches, Microwave oven, Fridge/freezer etc. Comes with all bedding, dishes, everything you will need.
